Broadway Hit God of Carnage to Get Hollywood Treatment

God of Carnage is headed for the big screen. Yasmina Reza’s hit Broadway comedy is poised for a film version, Carnage producer Harvey Weinstein told gossip columnist Cindy Adams.

The play, which is currently running at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre with an all-star cast, centers on the aftermath of a playground fight between two boys and what happens when their parents meet to talk about it.

Translated by Christopher Hampton and directed by Matthew Warchus, the production stars Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden. It received six 2009 Tony Award nominations, including Best Play, Best Actor in a Play for both Daniels and Gandolfini and Best Actress in a Play for both Davis and Harden and Best Directon of a Play.
